Beginning in February 2017, Benevity will be changing our U.S. processing foundation from the American Endowment Foundation (AEF) to the American Online Giving Foundation (AOGF).
Will this impact how my charity receives funds from Benevity?
In a word, no! If you are signed up for EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), you will continue to receive funds directly to your organization’s bank account.
If you are currently receiving payments by manual check, click here to learn about the benefits of signing up for EFT. To register, simply login into your Benevity Causes Portal account and click ‘Donation Method’ on the left-hand side menu to access the online application form.
Following the transition, paper checks will be addressed from the American Online Giving Foundation, rather than the American Endowment Foundation.
The mailing address for the American Online Giving Foundation is:
PO Box 1010, Safety Harbor FL 34695 US
Will this transition affect any recurring donations to my organization?
No. Any recurring donations to your organization will continue as before unless the donor chooses to pause or modify these donations.
What if I require a reissue of funds that were originally sent by the American Endowment Foundation (AEF)?
Due to this transition, there may be a slight delay in reissuing funds. Payments will begin to be reissued in February 2017 through the American Online Giving Foundation.
To avoid unnecessary delays, we strongly recommend signing up for EFT, which allows funds to be deposited directly into your organization’s bank account. EFT is the global standard for payment processing and provides a more secure and reliable method to receive funds. We are deeply committed to reducing the administrative costs and burdens associated with manual check processing so that your organization can continue focusing on what matters most.
To register, simply login into your Benevity Causes Portal account and click ‘Donation Method’ on the left-hand side menu to access the online application form.
Please be aware that all checks issued by AEF that remain uncashed after May 2017 will be voided and reissued by AOGF.
Will anything look different in the Causes Portal? Will this affect my donor reports?
Information about the donations that you receive through the Benevity platform is still accessible in the ‘Reports’ tab in the Benevity Causes Portal.
Funds that were sent to your organization prior to the transition will appear under ‘American Endowment Foundation’. Funds that were sent to your organization after the transition will appear under ‘American Online Giving Foundation’.
To access your donor reports, log in to your Benevity profile, choose ‘Reports’ from the left-hand side menu and select either ‘American Online Giving Foundation’ or ‘American Endowment Foundation’ from the drop-down menu.
