The UK Use of Funds Declaration is a mandatory requirement to remain eligible for donations from our global foundation partner, the UKOGF. If your organization cannot confirm that all donations received from the UKOGF are used in accordance with the law of England and Wales’ definition of charitable purposes, you will no longer be eligible to receive disbursements from the Benevity platform.
As outlined in Benevity’s eligibility guidelines and Terms of Use, your nonprofit organization may be deactivated on the Benevity platform for the following reason:
- The nonprofit was unable to declare that their use of funds donated via our charitable partner in the UK (UKOGF) is for charitable purposes, in accordance with UK law.
When you receive the UK Use of Funds Declaration, you have three possible courses of action:
- Confirm compliance ("Do Declare") – You certify that all donations received from the UKOGF will be used in accordance with the legal definition of charitable purposes in England and Wales.
- Decline compliance ("Do Not Declare") – You are unable to confirm compliance with the declaration.
- No response – You do not submit a response.
What happens if you do not declare or do not respond
If you do not respond, your organization will be deactivated on the Benevity platform. To regain eligibility, you simply need to complete and submit the declaration. Once verified, your organization may be reactivated.
If you select "Do Not Declare," your organization will also be deactivated on the Benevity platform. If this was done in error, please contact causecompliance@benevity.com for further assistance
