You can update your organization’s donation payment method (EFT) anytime through the Causes Portal.

How to update or change your bank account for donations

Follow these steps to change your donation payment method:

  1. Sign in to the Causes Portal.
  2. Navigate to the Donation Method tab.
  3. Click Update Donation Payment Method and select your preferred payment method (EFT, PayPal, or Check).
  4. Complete all required fields marked with a red asterisk (*).
  5. Upload the supporting documentation. Ensure all information in your application exactly matches the details in your supporting document.
  6. Acceptable documents include a bank-issued letter, void check, or bank statement.
  7. Review your application and click Submit.

What happens next?

All EFT and PayPal applications are manually reviewed by the Benevity Finance team, with processing times varying based on submission volume. Once the review is complete, you will receive an email notification, and the updated status will be reflected in the Donation Method tab in your profile. After approval, your previous banking information will be securely archived.

If your current bank account can no longer accept funds, we highly recommend that you temporarily switch to Check payments before submitting a new EFT or PayPal application. This prevents disbursements from being sent to a closed or inaccessible account while your new application is under review.
