If pages in the Benevity Causes Portal load slowly or the site feels unresponsive, the problem is often caused by outdated data stored in your browser. If you're seeing a specific error message rather than a general slowdown, see the related troubleshooting articles at the end of this page. Otherwise, start by clearing your cache and cookies, and if that doesn't help, try Incognito mode.
Clear your cache and cookies
These steps use Google Chrome. The Causes Portal is optimised for Chrome, so if you're using a different browser, switching to Chrome may also help.
- Open Google Chrome on your computer.
- Select the three dots icon in the top-right corner of your browser window.
- Select Settings.
- Select Privacy and security from the left sidebar.
- Select Delete browsing data.
- Select All time from the Time range drop-down menu.
- Check the box next to Cached images and files, then select Delete data.
You can uncheck Cookies and other site data and Browsing history if you don't want those deleted.
After clearing, close Chrome and reopen it. Go to the Benevity Causes Portal and sign in to check whether performance has improved.
Try Incognito mode
Incognito mode opens a private browsing window without your saved cache or cookies, which helps confirm whether a browser data issue is causing the slowdown.
- Open Google Chrome on your computer.
- Select the three dots icon in the top-right corner.
- Select New Incognito Window from the drop-down menu.
You can also press Ctrl + Shift + N on Windows or Cmd + Shift + N on Mac.
In the Incognito window, go to the Benevity Causes Portal and sign in. If the portal loads normally, this confirms a browser data issue. Return to the previous section and clear your cache and cookies in your regular browser window.
Still not working?
