Why are UKOGF donations still in Current status?

The UK Online Giving Foundation (UKOGF) is one of the charitable foundations that works with Benevity to facilitate non-tax-effective and cross-border donations. To ensure that the impact of your funding is not eroded by administrative costs or bank fees, we apply minimum disbursement thresholds.

We aim to ensure that every non-profit retains the maximum value of their donations. Low-value disbursements are often disproportionately affected by processing costs. By consolidating funds into more meaningful amounts, we help your organisation manage funding more efficiently.

Note: Thresholds are calculated based on the aggregated gross donation total. If your pending disbursements are below the required threshold for your country, the funds will be held securely and carry over to the next disbursement cycle until the minimum is met.

Local and international thresholds

For local transactions: A universal $5.00 USD minimum (or local currency equivalent) applies to electronic disbursements. This ensures that the administrative effort of processing a payment is balanced against the value of the funds received.

For international transactions: Cross-border payments are subject to global banking complexities, including lifting fees (fees charged by your own bank to receive international wires) and currency fluctuations. We set strategic minimums based on specific country and currency pairings. This protects your funds from being significantly reduced by third-party bank charges.

Because global banking fees and regulations change frequently, we maintain an up-to-date Disbursement Threshold Matrix.

April 2026 updates

Starting in April 2026, the following changes will take effect across the Benevity network for all Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) disbursements:

  • Universal electronic minimum: A baseline threshold of $5.00 USD (or local currency equivalent) will apply to all EFT disbursements.
  • International market adjustments: Certain international markets will have higher thresholds (typically ranging from $5.00 to $200.00 USD). These minimums account for regional lifting fees and currency fluctuations, ensuring that the final amount reaching your account is not disproportionately eroded by third-party transfer costs.
