When logged into their workplace giving account, our client's employees can search for eligible causes within their programme by cause name, registered charitable number, or keywords. They can further narrow the search results by country, province/state, or city.
To ensure your supporters can locate your non-profit's profile in their search, we recommend adding Tags and Search Aliases to increase your findability. A complete profile that includes a Logo, Description, and Mission Statement to tell your donors about the work you're involved in also helps donors find your organisation. Learn more about how to edit your cause profile and how to optimise your profile.
Benevity manages workplace giving programmes for many clients with different eligibility criteria. We do not disclose our client's programme eligibility requirements as that information is exclusive to their employees. If your organisations' profile is complete in the Causes Portal but not searchable within your donor's workplace programme, your donor will need to inquire internally to learn more about their company's eligibility criteria.
Why can't a donor find my organisation?
There are several reasons why a non-profit organisation might be listed as inactive or may not appear on the Benevity platform. These reasons may include:
- The organisation is no longer in good standing with its governing body or may have ceased operations.
- The organisation has requested to be removed from the platform or has unresolved issues, such as uncashed cheques or outstanding donations.
- The organisation was found to be in breach of Benevity's Terms of Use and was unable to resolve the breach within the agreed-upon timeframe.
- Duplicate profiles, profile consolidations, or mergers may have resulted in the deactivation of the organisation's profile.
- The organisation did not respond to ongoing outreach efforts from Benevity.
