What happens if my grant application is not approved?

If your grant application wasn't approved, you may receive a notification email from the granting organization. This email comes directly from them, not from Benevity. Review it carefully, as it's the best source of specific feedback about your application. The subject line includes the grant program name and a reference number. The email may include reasons for the outcome or information about future grant opportunities.

What if I didn't receive a notification email?

If you didn't receive a notification email, try these steps:

  1. Check your spam or junk folder
  2. Confirm the email address on your Benevity Causes Portal account is correct
  3. Go to track the status of your application to check your application status in the portal

If you still haven't received anything, the granting organization may not have sent a notification.

Next steps

After reviewing any feedback you've received, you can:

  • Contact the granting organization if you have questions about their decision. Check the notification email for their contact details, or reply to it directly
  • Check whether the grants program accepts applications in future cycles
  • Reapply in a future cycle if you're eligible
