Why is my donation method application 'awaiting approval'?

When you submit an EFT/ACH or PayPal application through the Causes Portal, it is reviewed by Benevity’s Finance team. Processing times vary throughout the year based on submission volume, so your application may remain in 'Awaiting Approval' status while it is being reviewed.

If your organization is in Canada or the U.S., you can continue receiving donations from North American donors while your EFT/ACH or PayPal application is under review, with disbursements sent via check payments until approval.

However, if your organization is outside North America, an approved EFT application is required before supporters can donate, meaning donations will not be processed until the application is reviewed and accepted.

What happens while you wait?

How will I know when my application is approved?

Your application status will be updated in the Donation Method tab of your cause profile. You will also receive an email notification once the review is complete.
