Benevity automatically creates profiles for millions of registered nonprofits using publicly available data from government registries and trusted validation partners. Your organization's information may have been imported from one of these sources, which is why your profile may already appear in the Benevity Causes Portal before you register.
Benevity syncs with these sources regularly to keep nonprofit information accurate and up to date. If your charitable status changes in your country's registry, your Benevity profile is updated to reflect that.
