Deactivating your cause's profile

To deactivate your cause’s profile, a representative from your organization must submit a request to our Cause Support team. When filling out the support request, please attach a PDF document on your organization’s letterhead with written authorization.

Deactivation takes 1–2 business days after we receive your request and authorization document.

When your cause’s profile is deactivated, Benevity will remove your organization from any search results in our employee giving platform, Spark, as well as our Community Impact (CI) Portal. These are the two Benevity software programs that clients and donors use to donate to nonprofits. This means that if your cause’s profile is deactivated, our client and donor base cannot find your organization when they search for it.

Note: Deactivating a profile does not remove it from the Benevity Causes Portal. You can still log in to your account to view donation history and download disbursement reports.

To reactivate your cause’s profile, please submit a request to our Cause Support team.
