How do I complete the UK Use of Funds Declaration?

You complete the UK Use of Funds Declaration in the Benevity Causes Portal. It is a short yearly form for The UK Online Giving Foundation (UKOGF). Completing it keeps donations that go through UKOGF available to your organization.

You need a Causes Portal sign-in with permission to manage the declaration. The primary user can submit it. A sub-user can also submit it if the declaration manager permission is enabled. Have the name and role of the person authorized to make the declaration, such as a trustee, director, or senior finance or operations lead. The form takes a few minutes.

Completing the form

If you received an email:

1. Select the Complete Declaration link in the email
2. Log in to your account. You are taken to the form

If you are already logged in when you select the email link, refresh the page so the form loads.

To open the form from your account:

1. Log in to the Benevity Causes Portal
2. Select Declaration in the left menu
3. Select Complete in the Actions column. The status shows Action required
4. Read the declaration statement in full
5. Select the checkbox to declare that funds will be used for charitable purposes, or to indicate that your organization cannot declare
6. Enter the first name, last name, and role of the person making the declaration
7. Select Submit

A confirmation appears on screen when your submission is received. The form stays available in the Declaration section.

The declaration dashboard and form are available in 22 languages. To change the language, choose an option from the dropdown at the bottom of the page.

Updating a declaration you already submitted

The form stays open all year. You can update an answer at any time, including after the annual cycle has closed.

3. Select Update in the Actions column
4. Change your answers and select Submit

Your most recent submission is the one that applies. There is no separate reinstatement request.

What if nothing appears under Declaration?

That usually means no declaration is currently requested for your organization. If you were expecting one, submit a help request and include your organization name and registration number.
