If donors tell you the Donate option is missing, the most common reason is that your UK Use of Funds Declaration is outstanding. The Donate option is removed only for donors whose gift would go through The UK Online Giving Foundation (UKOGF).
Donors get a short, general message: "This organization is not currently available for donations in your region." They are not told why, and they are not given details about your organization. A donation submitted through an older saved link is declined.
Companies may also find that your organization cannot be added to a new monetary giving opportunity while UKOGF is your only available path and the declaration is outstanding. Volunteering opportunities are not affected.
Check the Declaration section in the Benevity Causes Portal and complete the declaration if it is outstanding. Once your declaration is received and processed, the Donate option returns for those donors.
What happens if I don't complete the UK Use of Funds Declaration? explains what pauses and how to restore donations through UKOGF.
What still works
While the UK declaration is outstanding, your organization can still:
- Appear in search results
- Keep an open profile that donors can share or add as a favorite
- Accept nominations
- Take part in volunteering, including recording volunteer time
- Receive local donations and disbursements through other foundations, if those paths are available to you
What if the declaration is current and Donate is still missing?
An outstanding declaration is not the only possible cause. Your organization's payment details or onboarding status may need attention, or a review may be underway.
- Open Declaration in the main menu and confirm the UK Use of Funds Declaration status is Complete
- Check that your profile is complete, including payment details
- Ask the donor whether they are in a different country from your organization
If your declaration is current and Donate is still missing, submit a help request. Include your organization name and registration number.
